BSA A65 Star 1962
BSA A65 Star 1962 restoration project, great chance to purchase a very early "Star", it went to F Parkes, Lewisham on 17th January 1962. It has matching engine and frame numbers, originally it would have been red and there are traces of the original paint underneath the black. The bike is very original apart from the sportier type headlamp instead of the nacelle, engine wise the bike kicks over fine, with decent compression and according to the previous keeper, it had been running a couple of years ago. I had a quick look at it and tried to get it running, there are sparks on both plugs and clean petrol coming through (tank is very clean inside) but can only seem to get it to fire a couple of times, I think that it probably needs the carb coming off and cleaning properly. All in all great project, to ride or restore, comes with up to date V5c.
